What is MSU Today as related to the COPE Calendar?

MSU Today is an email newsletter for MSU faculty and staff, which carries up-to-date information for the MSU community, including events and announcements from the MSU Calendar. During the school year, MSU Today is sent to faculty and staff Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. During breaks and the summer semester, the email is only send on Mondays.

To be considered for MSU Today, items must be submitted no later than 4 p.m. the business day before the email is sent out.

Please note the difference between MSU Today Events and MSU Today Announcements:

Announcements appear at the top of the MSU Today email and provide information that does not include a specified time and physical location. Examples include upcoming deadlines, calls for nominations or volunteers, and information about infrastructure work that will affect traffic or access to buildings. Announcements can also include events that will not be occurring within the next two MSU Today email mailings but may require an RSVP. Announcements generally appear just once in the MSU Today email.

Events are activities that will occur at a specified time and location. Events include lectures, concerts, receptions, and exhibit openings that would be of interest to MSU faculty and staff. Events may also include activities that will create a large presence on campus by non-MSU entities.

Prior to submitting your event or announcement, please view the MSU Today guidelines.
